London Boat Trip 7.11 – 11.11.2008

During last long weekend (yes they have it in Belgium) we had an opportunity to visit Hannes’s New-Zeeland originated friends in London. Those lovely people live on a traditional British-type barge – size c.a. 19mx2m. Thus was that an unusual trip. We admired the city not as immigrants but as typical tourists and what more that was partly from a boat. Onboard Tyro (what according to the owners in latin means “beginner”) we cruised along channels, lived, cooked and had a wonderful evening with our hosts and their boat-neighbours.

We had some luck with the weather. Sun and blue sky. Though on the weekend’s monday we got a little bit flushed. Partly we took shelter from the rain in London Zoo. After entire day of sightseeing in this bad weather we were wet and cold – that is all about London.

On the pictures you can see us, our hosts – Chris and Kathrina, their neighbours and Lesley – british friend of Hanne with which she attended erasmus exchange programme in Finland. What more you get Tate Modern, National Galerry, Trafalgar Sq., Hyde Park, Camden Town, London Zoo and more.
